Germany: From the Classics to Oom-pah
Students begin their Germany music tour in Berlin, the country’s capital and cultural center. Once a divided city, Berlin offers students the chance to explore both its dark history and its modern vibrancy. The Topography of Terror Museum, built on the site of Nazi headquarters, offers students an opportunity to bring their own musical energy to the milieu. Students will also perform at the Mödlareuth Museum, which memorializes the divided city with a portion of the Berlin Wall. A visit to the Sanssouci Palace offers a great contrast, rivaling the palace of Versailles. Students continue their German journey with a visit to Munich, including the Olympic Stadium and Dachau. Students might recognize Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian hills, the inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. Students will be immersed in German culture, food, and language, including a tour of the renowned BMW factory.
